Who We Are
RVLoanCalc is an independent finance tool website built by RV enthusiasts who got frustrated with loan calculators that were either buried inside lender websites (with an obvious sales agenda) or too generic to account for RV-specific factors like sales tax by state, long loan terms, and trade-in values.
We built the tool we wished existed — one that calculates the real, complete cost of an RV purchase including sales tax, trade-in credit, extra payments, and a full month-by-month amortization schedule. No signup required, no data collected, no lender pushing you toward a specific product.
RVLoanCalc is currently in testing phase. Our full launch will be on WordPress with expanded tools, more state-specific data, and a lender comparison section.

Our Methodology
Transparency matters when it comes to financial tools. Here is exactly how our calculator works and where our data comes from.
Calculator math
We use the standard amortization formula: M = P[r(1+r)^n] / [(1+r)^n - 1], where P = principal loan amount, r = monthly interest rate (annual rate ÷ 12), and n = total number of monthly payments. Sales tax is added to the purchase price before calculating the financed amount. Extra monthly payments are applied directly to the remaining principal.
Interest rate data
Rate ranges shown in our Current RV Loan Rates article are aggregated from publicly advertised rates by major RV lenders including LightStream, Good Sam Finance Center, Bank of the West, Southeast Financial, and credit unions offering RV loans as of early 2026. Actual rates you receive will depend on your credit score, loan term, RV type, and lender.
Sales tax data
State sales tax rates are sourced from each state's Department of Revenue or equivalent authority. Local tax rates (county/city) are noted where they materially affect the total rate. Tax caps and exemptions are verified against current state statutes. Data is reviewed and updated annually.
What our calculator does not include
Our calculations do not include dealer fees, documentation fees, extended warranty costs, RV insurance, storage fees, or campground/site fees. These vary widely by dealer and location. Always request a full out-the-door price from your dealer before finalising financing.
